It is not required by the government that vitamin nutrition supplements be laboratory tested. However, many companies will perform two types of tests — in-house and independent laboratory tests — to demonstrate the credibility of their supplement. There are two particular reasons why they do such testing.
The first reason is to confirm that the ingredients list on the label of the vitamin nutrition supplement is the same as the ingredients found in testing. The second reason is to make sure that the supplement is effective and not toxic.
If you want to be assured that you are actually taking the ingredients listed on the label, only purchase laboratory tested supplements.
