Should I Get Life Insurance for My Daughter?

It seems like whenever there is a major event in your life, someone is trying to cash in on it. When we bought a house we got notices from companies wanting us to buy mortgage insurance from them, and now that we have a baby we get letters from companies wanting us to buy Child Life Insurance. I always ask around to find out whether or not it would be a good idea to buy what people are trying to sell me just to make sure that I don’t end up either wasting my money on something useless or missing out on a good deal. Should I buy the life insurance for my daughter?
