Will Microsoft give certification soft copy or just hard one?

I am a freelance web designer. As far as courses mcse certification is concerned, it is just for knowledge and for having a quality CV. Are the exams taken in a written form - or by using computer in a specific testing center? Can I take exam after preparation of 30 days or are there some restrictions?
